In the spring of 1957, our hospital received a batch of samples from the People’s Liberation Army Hospital. It was said that the treatment of schistosomiasis was effective, but there was a role to play in the identification of varieties. These samples are similar to the “Qiaolu” purchased by our hospital in 1952 in Nanjing Herbal Medicine. At that time, it was observed that the so-called “Veliopsis” was not the underground part of the plant of the genus Verarvum but the root and root of the plant of the genus Hemerocallis. Afterwards, various parties paid attention to “Velibagis” and reported on varieties. The scientific names mentioned in these reports include Hemerocallis flavaLinne; H.thunbergii Bxker; H.citrina Baronj. In recent years, due to the certain curative effect of “Velioporhynchus spp.” applied to blood-sucking diseases and the extensive development of chemical composition research, it is necessary to identify exactly the species of the commodity “Veliopsis” and identify its crude drugs. According to Prof. Sun Xiongcai’s report (see the current issue), it is believed that transplants are made in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, and Jiashan, Anhui.
