In discussing whether Confucianism contains the core concept of moral sentiment theory-empathy-both Chinese scholars and Slobat have set their sights on Mencius. Domestic scholars think Mencius’s implicit heart is in the discussion of empathy, and Sloter believes that Mencius “everything is prepared for me ” is empathy. Both of these views actually have problems. Hidden heart, all things are prepared for me more is to promote others, Mencius did not talk about empathy. Slaughter’s similarities between moral sentiment and Confucianism are more similar in spirit temperament, not concrete ideas, conceptual similarities.
