海权观念淡漠是近代中国吃亏的重要原因海权,对中国人来说是一个从鸦片战争开始认识而到今天仍未被充分消化、在实践上又迫切需要回答的问题。海权观念淡漠是近代中国在与世界交往中吃亏的重要原因。中国西边是喜马拉雅山、昆仑山,东部整个被大海包围着。在以蒸汽动力为基础的远程航海出现之前,征服大海远比征服中国困难,因此大海也成了古代中国天然的保护屏障。
