In the traditional social treatment, “men” and “women” each have their own different definitions. They think that men should be strong and burly, while women should be gentle and kind. Under such a definition, men and women are assigned to different roles. And have their own social division of labor. In childhood, this concept will be infused early, and under the influence of parents and the surrounding environment to establish “gender” gender awareness. The boy will be trained to grow up to be a man and the girl is set out to develop a lady. The picture book “Aulver is a Sissy” and “Playful Princess Do not Marry” designed two images that are considered “heterogeneous” for the traditional definition of “boy” and “girl”, respectively This article selects these two picture books as an example for specific analysis. This type of picture book provides a good template for us as a new attempt to subvert the traditional establishment of children’s gender awareness and focus on the growth of children in the “marginalized” position.
