外国的音乐学校教育有相当长的发展历史,我国音乐学校教育相对来说发展的比较晚,试图对我国音乐教育的发展史,特别是近现代的我国音乐教育发展史做一个回顾。论文分三个阶段对我国音乐教育近现代的发展做回顾和探究,分别是初步的萌芽阶段,稳步发展阶段和艰难的发展阶段,这个三个我国音乐教育近现代发展历史都具有一定的代表性,都有较为清楚的的发展脉络和较为明显的时代特点。对我国中小学音乐教育近现代发展的历史做这样的回顾,也有一定的意义。
