WN25 series diesel engine started production in 1962, and its application scope mainly includes: marine engine; semi-submersible platform offshore auxiliary and backup power plant; nuclear power plant emergency power plant; fixed base load generator sets. The diesel engine over many years in a variety of operating conditions, are verified with a high degree of reliability. This article will discuss the following impact on reliability: the continuity of development; the application of components; the establishment of quality assurance system; and the pre-maintenance. An analysis method that has an impact on the reliability of some important components is analyzed.
