铁锰沉积物和火山碎屑沉积物,是南海大陆坡和中央盆地沉积物的重要组分,它们和有孔虫或放射虫构成粗粒沉积物(粒径大于0.063毫米)。研究它们的特征、分布规律,可籍拟探讨其成因、沉积环境、物质来源,对于阐明南海沉积作用具有重要意义。我所1973—1982年于南海中部和东北部海域进行调查时,采集表层沉积物样品,笔者对其中的铁锰沉积物和火山碎屑沉积物进行了初步研究。本文研究的样品共95个。
Iron-manganese deposits and pyroclastic deposits, which are important components of sediments in continental slopes and central basins of the South China Sea, constitute coarse-grained sediments (grain sizes> 0.063 mm) with foraminifera or radiolarian species. To study their characteristics and distribution rules may be intended to explore its causes, sedimentary environment, material sources, to clarify the role of sedimentation in the South China Sea is of great significance. During the survey from 1973 to 1982 in the central and northeastern part of the South China Sea, a sample of surface sediments was collected. The authors conducted a preliminary study on the sediments of iron-manganese and volcaniclastic sediments. In this paper, a total of 95 samples.
