This paper describes a CCD color signal separation integrated circuit for use on a color filter array solid-state imager. By introducing a CCD delay line, sample and hold circuit, and dual-clamp circuitry, the device simplifies the peripheral circuitry and improves image quality such as resolution, color fidelity, and monolithic color imaging system stability . In the meantime, a new color filter array of geometric shapes is described, which is necessary for the separation of integrated circuits. When using a CCD imager with a resolution of 580 x 475 pixels, a color image of horizontal resolution equal to the 340TV scan line has been obtained from the device without color distortion.
