善意性别偏见与敌意性别偏见的区分是对传统性别偏见理论的一个重要补充和完善。由于善意性别偏见形式上的善意性和内隐性,女性通常意识不到其深层的不公平性和侵害性,因此对善意性别偏见的接受程度远高于敌意性别偏见。善意性别偏见对女性社会角色的发展有诸多制约作用:将女性社会性别角色发展的方向重新引向传统女性角色的老路;弱化了女性的自主意识;将女性引向对外表的过分关注;追求成功的动机强度降低;善意性别偏见对女性的隐性危害有代际传递效应。因此,善意性别偏见本质上与敌意性别偏见相同,都体现出男性威权和性别歧视的思想,对其应形成理性批判的态度。
The distinction between goodwill gender bias and hostile gender bias is an important complement and improvement to traditional gender bias theory.
