Three generations of 18mm microchannel plate image intensifier is designed for low light night vision applications. Efficient GaAs photocathodes are bonded to the 7056 glass input window with a microplate current amplifier and phosphor screen. The photocathode is sensitive to the low light and infrared images of 580-820 nm. The photocathode's electronic image is focused close to the microplate and amplified with almost no distortion. The electronic image of the microplate is focused close to the green P-20 screen, which is deposited on
