1987年10月,湖北安陆市雷公镇姚河村民在解放山取土时,发现铜器4件,当即送交市博物馆。该馆即派人到现场调查,知铜器出于一距地表深约100、口径80、底径74厘米的土坑内,坑上由不规则的两块红石条掩盖,无他物,应为窖藏。现将铜器简介如下。铜瓿 1件。敛口,侈唇,圆腹,圈足。腹饰兽面纹和乳钉,器薄无锈。通高19、口径19.2、腹径27、腹深14.5、圈足径17、圈足高4.5厘米。重2.7公斤(图版肆,4;图一,2;图二,2)。
