本实验测量了中国国家男子手球队12名队员，年龄25．9±1．0岁，均为运动健将；中国国家青年男子手球队员15名，年龄17．1±0.4岁；两队样本合并为我国优秀男子手球运动员组，平均年龄21．04±0.99岁。测得身体形态指标32项，派生指标22项，将所有数据进行统计学处理。对照组为我国城市男生。结果显示：我国优秀男子手球运动员身体形态指标：（1）手部各长度指标均值明显大于同龄对照组。左、右手长均值分别为19．99和20．34厘米，最小值为18.5厘米。左、右手拇-小指指间距平均值分别为21．97和21．91厘米，最小值为2002厘米。（2）虎口水平角度和虎口垂直角度平均值分别为89．13°。（3）指间距均长于身高3．53～4．04厘米。（4）坐高指数较大，均值为59．22，为长躯干型（52以上为长躯干型）。（5）骨盆宽-身高指数和骨盆宽-肩宽指数平均值均小于骨龄对照组，分别为1513和6632，说明我国优秀男子手球运动员均属宽肩窄骨贸型。（6）达氏指数为22．97，为中间型。
