With support of people’s government in Hebei Province, people’s government of Baoding city and China Arts & crafts Institute hold the 3rd China Quyang International Caving Festival from Sep. 9 to Sep.11 2005. “Quyang International Carving Competition” is important part of the festival. After first trial of committee, 32 artists participated in competition including artists of Australia, Japan, South Korea, Belgium, and Russia. Qian Shaowu is director of examine and comment committee. Nine pieces of works won the award. The 11th Chinese Sculpture Forum added academic atmosphere for the international caving festival. Theme of forum is “Times, Art & I”. The 40 experts talked about theme of responsibility and great mission for artist now. They discussed two topics, which is “price appraisal mechanism of contemporary sculptor’s works ”and “actuality &future of Quyang carving industry”
