简要评述了凯思·平所著《白铜:中国合金在欧洲 (1680—1820)》一书。该书的主要学术贡献在于发现了英国 18世纪后期著名工业家马修·波尔顿的档案资料并做了深入地研究,从而找到了一批重要的新史料,使白铜史上的一些疑难问题得以澄清。该书的另一贡献是提供了上百件白铜实物的科学分析结果,为鉴别中国白铜及其仿制品德国银提供了重要的科学依据。
A brief review of Keith Ping’s book “White Copper: China Alloy in Europe (1680-1820)” a book. The book’s main academic contribution lies in the discovery of the archival material of the famous British industrialist Matthew Bolton in the late 18th century and the in-depth study to find out a number of important new historical materials that have made some difficult problems in the history of the Bronze Age clarify. Another contribution of the book is to provide the scientific analysis of hundreds of white bronze objects in kind, which provides an important scientific basis for the identification of Chinese white copper and its imitation Deutsche Bank.
