为了落实毛主席“备战、备荒、为人民”的伟大战略方針和“绿化祖国”的指示,认真貫彻一九七二年“全国林木优良品种科研协作会议”的精神,更好地完成“选择和培育速生用材树种的优良品种”的研究任务,在中国农林科学院的指导下,“全国杨树良种选育协作会议”于一九七三年九月十六日至九月二十四日在我省召开。出席会议的有黑龙江、吉林、河北、甘肃、宁夏、新疆、山西、陝西、内蒙、青海、山东、江苏、安徽、北京、天津和辽宁等十七个省(区)、市的林业主管部门及科研、生产、教学等单位的代表,共一百五十二人。
