钙是人体不可缺少的重要的膳食因素,不仅婴幼儿需要,中老年人更为需要。但目前人类因钙摄入量普遍不足而影响健康质量的问题已广泛受到重视。1994年美国国家卫生研究等9个单位召开的钙最适摄入量的会议提出,11~24岁钙摄入量应提高至1200~1500mg/d,才能使成年时期骨密度达到较高峰值;绝经期骨钙摄入应保持在1000~1500mg/日才能不丢失或缓解钙的丢失。因此提倡改变饮食习惯及强化补钙来满足人体钙摄入要求。
