William de Kooning was one of the most influential and prolific artists of the 20th century. The New York Museum of Modern Art recently underwent a comprehensive review of his 70-year career as an artist, covering early works written in the Netherlands before his immigration to the United States in 1926 and a small number of late abstract works in the 1980s. Among its most famous and landmark works are the Pink Angels, Excavations and the Third Woman series. Even the rare 17-square-foot theater stage maze “Labyrinth” appears in this exhibition. Dekkonen’s works can be divided into biological abstract painting, black and white composition, character imagery, action abstract painting, landscape painting and still life. He combines abstract and figurative patterns to create bio abstraction, the abstract silhouette of the figure, together with the spliced body parts. In the 1940s, Takuinin began to try purely black and white to paint. In the early 1960s, the artist’s palette began to change into a cool rococo pink, yellow and blue tones depicting what he saw on Long Island.
