OBJECTIVE: To compare and quantify the thermal stress response and the thermal load of the body wearing two kinds of breathable crew protective suits (new NC service and HC service) under hot environment and moderate exercise load. Methods: The subjects were 8 male warriors who did not exercise with heat. In the hot environment, the subjects were two kinds of experimental clothing running treadmill exercise test; walking speed and slope were 1.11m / s and 5%, the test duration of 80 minutes. Monitoring indicators include: rectal temperature (Tre), skin temperature (Tsk), heat accumulation rate (ΔS) and sweat rate and sweat evaporation rate. Results: Tre, Tsk and ΔS responses were significantly increased in subjects with NC clothing compared with those in HC clothes, with no significant differences in perspiration rate and sweat evaporation rate. Conclusion: The subjects in the NC clothing produced a stronger heat stress response, the body’s heat load is also higher, while the subjects complained NC clothes than HC clothes feel more uncomfortable
