The use of euphemism is a common phenomenon in the languages of all nations of the world, and euphemisms are often used in our everyday communication. Euphemism can ease the opposition in communication and reduce misunderstanding. Euphemism plays a very important role in both English and Japanese languages. This article compares the two to explore the similarities and differences between English and Japanese euphemisms.
