“西江走廊经济区”这个概念被提出来已十年有余。十几年中,有关地区都作了一些努力,试图让这一设想变成现实,但由于受行政区划、经济结构和没有一个相应的协调机构等的影响,“西江走廊经济区”始终停留在“理想王国”阶段。笔者以为,根据地理、民俗文化、产业发展层次等条件看,建立和发展“西江走廊经济区”的设想是符合实际的、可行的。眼下最迫切的,是要找到一个突破口,一个能带动所有有关地区经济发展的行业,形成“产业效应”,建设西江流域旅游业是最为现实的一个步骤。 “西江走廊经济区”主要是指以珠江的干流西江为纽带向两厢辐射的粤西、桂东地区。它以珠江三角洲为前沿,广东的肇庆、广西的梧州为主要腹地,可联接玉林、贵港等地。这一区域的最大特色是自然风光好,交通便利,各种资源丰富,这就使首先建立西江旅游长廊成为其最好的突破口。 建立西江旅游长廊的构想 一、建立西江旅游长廊的可行性。
