This article examines how Ngogi Watti Angkor applied the elements of the song to the play “I Want to Marry at Marriage,” in which I articulate the hypocritical face of the Kenyan elite. As self-proclaimed devout Christians, they talk about the flawed gospel and doctrine. Full of mind is the idea of pressing the poor. First, we use the lies of heaven to persuade people to transfer to Christianity, donate money to the church, and then find ways to deceive their ancestral land. The poor people are even more impoverished. The drama is heavily interspersed with songs, the tradition of oral performances in Kikuyu, the indigenous language of Africa, that makes the satirical effect of the drama even more pronounced.
