量热学的中心任务是测定一个物理过程或化学过程的热效应。一个量热数据只有用明确规定的单位很清楚地表示出,才能对理论和实用上有价值。量热学中过去是用卡作单位的,而卡有各式各样的卡。因此,一个很精确的量热实验,往往因所表示的单位不明确,而归于无用。近代量热学界虽一致认为应当用焦耳作为热量的单位,但由于习惯关系,仍有不少作者用卡作单位。本文拟对卡以及卡与焦耳间的关系作一扼要介绍。
The central task of calorimetry is to determine the thermal effects of a physical or chemical process.
