1998年6月下旬,西江发生了建国以来的最大洪水,梧州站最高水位26.51m,最大流量52 900 m~3/s,高于“94·6”洪水0.60m,水位、流量均超过100年一遇,仅次于1915年7月的历史最大洪水。由于河道条件的变化和北江洪水顶托相对较小,高要站最高水位仅有13.32m,低于“94·6”洪水0.30m,为接近50年一遇的洪水,但最大流量为52600 m~3/s,仍超过100年一遇。这次特大洪水给我市的封开、德庆两县造成了严重的洪涝灾害。洪水过后,我们对产生这场洪水的原因,以及对洪水的预报,作了个总结,力求在理论上有所提高。
In late June 1998, the largest flood occurred since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in the Xijiang River. The highest water level at Wuzhou Station was 26.51m with a maximum flow of 52,900 m 3 / s, which was higher than the flood of 0.94 m “94.6” Once in 100 years, second only to the July 1915 flood of history.
