自由基—过氧化脂质,可能是造成很多疾病和衰老的原因。体内正常有氧代谢即产生自由基(O_2~-,HO·),大多数毒物、药物、致癌物经体内代谢成为无活性物排出,但有的则形成反应性强的烷化、酰化、芳香基化中间物,其中有的就是自由基,从而引起脂质过氧化加强。但是,由于人体有保护系统与之斗争,使人得以健康地生活数十年不致早衰。保护系统主要包括:(1)超氧化物岐化酶和过氧化氢酶分别清除O_2~-和H_2O_2;(ii)谷胱甘肽过氧化酶(GSH-px)和谷胱甘肽还原酶(GR)清除H_2O_2及过氧化脂质;(iii)GSH-S转移酶(GST)催化反应性毒物及其代谢物与GSH结合,然后排出;(iV)、维生素E(VE)清除自由基,
