文彭以闲适心态、高逸情怀,以及非凡的承古开新的创新精神,在中国篆刻史上写下辉煌的篇章。他是自元代以来文人治印的集大成者,同时又是明清文人流派篆刻艺术的开山者。他的文人精神特质,既是自身学养和天赋使然,也受到以其父文徵明为代表的江南传统文人精神的熏染。他把所秉持的文人精神及篆刻艺术法则,播向大江南北以及后世印人,推动明清文人篆刻艺术走向中国篆刻史的又一个高峰。
Wen Peng in a fit of mind, Gao Yi Qing Huai, and extraordinary Cheng Gu new pioneering spirit, wrote a brilliant chapter in the history of Chinese carving. Since the Yuan Dynasty, he is a master of the seal of the literati, and at the same time he is a pioneer in the art of seal cutting by literati in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The literary qualities of his literati are both self-cultivation and natural talent, as well as being influenced by the spirit of the traditional southern literati represented by his patriarchal conscription. He upheld the spirit of the literati and the art of carving and scribbling to the north and south of the great rivers and the later Indian, promoting the carving art of Ming and Qing scholars to another peak in the history of Chinese carving.
