在英汉两种语言中存在着大量的动物词,但由于两个民族在文化背景、思维方式、价值观念、审美价值取向和社会心理等诸多方面存在着较大差异,因此,两个民族对同一动物词赋予了不同的文化内涵,有的有相同的象征意义,有的有不同的象征意义,有的甚至相冲突。由于这些差异的存在,给我们的跨文化交际和翻译工作带来了诸多不便。本文主要归纳了一些英汉动物词文化内涵的异同,并给出了一些英语动物词的翻译方法。
There are a large number of animal words in both English and Chinese languages. However, due to the great differences between the two peoples in terms of cultural background, ways of thinking, values, aesthetic values and social psychology, Animal words give different cultural connotations, some have the same symbolic meaning, others have different symbolic meanings, and some even conflict. Due to these differences, it brings us a lot of inconvenience in intercultural communication and translation work. This article mainly summarizes the similarities and differences of some English and Chinese animal words’ cultural connotation, and gives some translation methods of English animal words.
