泛珠三角是横空出世的全新概念,这个概念从提出到转化为大规模的行动,前后只花了5个月,其速度之快堪称空前。着眼于长远来看,共建泛珠三角经济圈的战略利益在于使“9+2”的经济主流化,使这个区域在20年后成为全球三大经济圈的核心地区。从小珠三角到大珠三角,从大珠三角到泛珠三角,在2003年下半年,广东区域经济的坐标系急剧放大,广东人观察自身经济发展的视野空前拓宽。对此,有经济学家评论称,这是广东着眼于未来20年持续发展的战略抉择,这是广东经济力争在全球主流化的关键一步。
The Pan-PRD is a completely new concept born out of nothing. It took only 5 months to move from a proposal to a large-scale operation and its speed was unprecedented. In the long run, the strategic interest in building a Pan-Pearl River Delta economic zone lies in mainstreaming the “9 + 2” economy so that it will become the core area of the world’s three major economic zones 20 years from now. From the Pearl River Delta to the Greater Pearl River Delta, from the Greater Pearl River Delta to the Pan-Pearl River Delta, in the second half of 2003, the coordinate system of the regional economy in Guangdong expanded dramatically. The vision of the Guangdong people to observe their own economic development was unprecedentedly broadened. In response, some economists have commented that this is a strategic choice for Guangdong to focus on the sustainable development in the next two decades. This is a crucial step for Guangdong’s economy to strive for global mainstreaming.
