Since the 1950s, the reform of mathematics education in primary and secondary schools in the United States has been fluctuating and changing. There have been three major reforms. The “new mathematics movement” in the late 1950s basically focused on the reform of the curriculum, aiming at strengthening the modernization of mathematics courses and cultivating high-tech talents. In the 1970s, there was an upsurge of “recovery basic sports” education, emphasizing the training of basic knowledge and basic skills in the mathematics curriculum.
