Biochemistry has seen phenomenal growth in the last 50-60 years. Originally due to medical and agronomic requirements, it has now grown rapidly from infant to adulthood. It has evolved from a vassal of medical practitioners to a growing number of independent subjects; it has also moved from static science, which is devoted to organizing chemistry, to dynamic science, which focuses on metabolism and function. The field of biochemistry is vast in scope and very difficult to stipulate. There are so many places that are bordered by the neighboring subjects that there is no definite boundary.
