四川大渡河中游末端,铜街子水电站坝轴线下游的左岸,为一片平缓的台地。因它位于四川省乐山市福禄区新华乡,故称之为新华台地。对这片台地的成因,各家有不同看法。前期水电站的地质勘探工作者认为,新华台地是第四纪冰川融冻的产物,仅表面有塌滑现象。所以在原初步设计中,将左坝肩及主要水工建筑物均布设在新华台地上。1980年底至1981年初,中国科学院成都地理研究所滑坡研究室受水利电力部第七工程局委托,到新华台地调查斜坡变形原因。
The middle reaches of Dadu River in Sichuan, the left bank of the downstream of dam street of Tongjiezi Hydropower Station is a gentle platform. Because it is located in Xinhua Township, Fulu District, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, it is called Xinhua Terrace. The causes of this piece of land, each has a different view. Pre-hydropower geologists believe that the Xinhua-Taiwan Plains is the product of the melting of the Quaternary glaciers, only the surface slip-slip phenomenon. Therefore, in the original design, the left abutment and the main hydraulic structures will be laid on Xinhua Terrace. By the end of 1980 to the beginning of 1981, Chengdu Institute of Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences Landslide Laboratory commissioned by the Seventh Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources and Electric Power to Xinhua Taiwan to investigate the causes of slope deformation.
