自由是人的生命活动的性质与人的类特性,是人在活动中通过把握现实可能性并将其与人的本质要求相结合而表现出的自觉、自为、自主与自律的状态。认识论、政治学、伦理学和美学意义上的自由各有其具体内容,但它们都是人的完整自由的有机组成部分。努力增进人的自由是教育作为一项育人事业的根本价值诉求。由于自由是包含多方面内容的有机整体,因此,教育增进人的自由需要以培养人的自由能力、提升人的自由权利与义务意识、生成人的自由道德境界和发展人的审美自由等多个方面为价值目标。
Freedom is the nature of human life activities and human characteristics.
