一、調查的动机与組織白蟻为我国長江流域以南木材的主要害虫,由于反动政府的腐敗,从未加以注意和研究。1955年春,由于中央对全国木材的調配,作了統一的計划,因而,武汉地区的各建筑部門,在中央总的方針指示下,購进了东北的大量木材。但为了保証各項建筑工程的質量和百年大計起見,各建筑主管部門,曾与有关机关接洽商討,希望对白蟻为害木材的种类,和对白蟻防治的具体措施能得到結論。針对这一总的要求,我們曾集合了武汉五个学会的会员,和九个單位由各單位抽調参加具体工作的同志共計14人(机关人名見附表)。共同組織了武汉白蟻調查工作組。
I. Motivation and Organization of Investigation Termites are the major pests of wood to the south of the Yangtze River valley in our country. Due to the corruption of the reactionary government, they have never been noticed and studied. In the spring of 1955, due to the central government’s unified plan for the nationwide allocation of timber, various construction departments in Wuhan purchased large quantities of wood in the Northeast under the general direction of the Central Government. However, in order to ensure the quality of all construction projects and a hundred years’ plan, the competent departments of construction have consulted with relevant agencies and hope that the types of wood damaged by termites and the concrete measures for the prevention and control of termites can be concluded. In response to this general request, we have gathered a total of 14 members from five WUAs in Wuhan and nine comrades from nine units drawn up by various units to participate in specific work (see the attached table for the name of the authorities). Wuhan termite survey team jointly organized.
