Describes the application of target location simulation to select and optimize the underground mine transport system technology. A distinguishing feature of this technology from other technologies is the reusability of its software code, which means that software tools designed in this way are available to users without having to know the details of their implementation. Another advantage is that non-programming experts users can easily model with this software. This article illustrates the use of simulation models established by target-location modeling tools to evaluate different transport scenarios in the design of the underground transport system at the ParysMountain mine in Anglesey, North Wales. The simulation results and their explanations are also discussed.
