园艺工作者明白,如果想要苹果优质,并且能贮藏得好,必须充分施给钙素(Ca)。现在证实了,过多的氮素(N),会抵消钙素的有益功效。因此,对苹果质量来说,重要的不仅是充分的钙素,而且是低的氮/钙比例。充足的钙素能降低苹果的呼吸率,从而使果实能较长时间地保存。充足的钙素还能保持细胞膜的构造,有助于蛋白质的合成。苹果收获以后的损失,实质上都是钙素不足所引起的。
