除了教给学生修理汽车的基本技能外,我也总是跟他们讲做人的道理,但我从来就不指望自己的学生能听得进我的说教。又是一天开始,想到下午排得满满的课,我就感到头大。不知什么缘故,我最近突然对自己所从事的职业失去了往日的热情。我打开校内私人信箱,发现一张便条,上面写着:“请致电555-6167,玛格丽特。”是我不熟悉的名字和电话号码。不过作为一名在中学里教汽车修理的老师,经常有人给我打电话要求帮忙修理车子。午餐时间,我拨通了那个号码。“我想找玛格丽特。”我说。“我就是。”电话那边回答
In addition to teaching students the basic skills of car repair, I always talk to them as human beings, but I never expect my students to listen to my preaching.
