54年前,在中国革命由新民主主义向社会主义转变的重大历史关头,中国共产党在西柏坡召开了七届二中全会,毛泽东同志高瞻远瞩地向全党特别是党的高级干部敲响了警钟,提出了“两个务必”的著名论述。从西柏坡动身前往北京的时候,毛泽东同志一再提到李自成,并把执政喻为进京“赶考”,衷心希望我们党考个好成绩。历史走到今天,我们党要带领人民不断开创中国特色社会主义事业新局面,是这场考试的继续。在这个重要的历史关头,新任总书记胡锦涛上任伊始即号召全党同志特别是领导干部牢记“两个务必”,“大力发扬艰苦奋斗的作风,为实现党的十六大确定的目标和任务开拓进取、团结奋斗。”重温历史,结合现实,我们可以充分肯定:坚持“两个务必”是时代的需要,是新形势下中国共产党战胜前进道路上一切困难,从胜利走向胜利的重要保证。

At this important historical juncture, the new general secretary Hu Jintao immediately called upon all comrades in the party, especially the leading cadres, to bear in mind “two musts,” “vigorously carry forward the work hard style of struggle, and work hard to achieve the goals and tasks set by the party’s 16th National Congress Enterprising and united. ”In reviewing history and combining reality, we can fully affirm that adhering to the“ two musts ”is the need of the times and an important guarantee for the Chinese Communist Party in trivializing all difficulties and progressing from victory to victory under the new situation.
