The impact of China’s accession to the World Trade Organization on the Chinese textile industry is bound to be significant, but whether the impact of this impact is positive or negative depends entirely on the international competitiveness of China’s textile industry. Because whether the WTO’s “Textile and Apparel Agreement” (ATC) or the ten-year safeguard clauses reached by China and the United States all indicate that China must completely place itself in the world’s textile industry.
