Japan Osaka University Welding Institute of several types of electrodes Tungsten arc welding operation characteristics were compared. This research work is carried out with a small amount of rare earth metal oxides La_2O_3, Y_2O_3, CeO_2 and other oxides such as ZrO_2, ThO_2 and MgO after activation of pure tungsten electrodes and tungsten electrodes. The behavior of these metal oxides in arc welding was analyzed and compared in terms of the original characteristics of the arc, the electrode consumption, the shape of the electrode during long-term operation, the integrity of the electrode under inert gas protection and welding temperature, etc.
