一、前言马丁马里塔航天公司模拟实验室在29×45英尺的热真空室上用四台48英寸4万升/秒(对氮气)的低温泵替换了四台同样尺寸的95000升/秒(对氮气)的扩散泵。这一次替换为对两种系统的性能进行对比提供了极好的机会。于是,对两个系统的有效抽速进行了计算,以便对两者的性能进行理论比较。而且还做了一系列的试验,以对基本操作方法加以比较。试验内容包括两系统的抽气时间测量、极限压强测量和有效抽速的测量。本文介绍了这一工作的结果。
I.
