The commonly used antibiotics are now derived from plant microorganisms, but animal materials also have antibacterial effects. For example, Hankin’s (1890) had extracted antibiotics from the cat’s spleen and lymph glands, and Vaughn’s (1895) had spleen. The brain, thyroid and testicles extract bactericidal substances. Hirsch and Dubos (1952) used ethanol to extract crystalline material from skim beef kidney powder called Spermin, which has bactericidal and bactericidal effects on various types of tuberculosis bacteria. In addition, Fujinoshi (1951) withdraws substances that have healing properties from the fly.
