In order to meet the needs of energy saving, people often adopt the method of reducing fuel consumption and petroleum alternative fuels. Coal is one of the most promising petroleum substitute fuels. Hokkaido University of Japan experimented with a mixture of liquefied oil and diesel fuel on a small high-speed diesel engine using alternative fuel, coal, to investigate engine performance, combustion and emissions characteristics when using the blended fuel for a small, high-speed engine.
