On July 1, 1997, Hong Kong will end her humiliating colonial history forever and return to the embrace of the motherland. At the dawn of this glorious day, the famous engraving artist Shi Pin-mou, with his exquisite skills, created a magnificent jade jade carving full of imagination and dramatization - “Welcome to 1997” (see above Figure). Under the outlines of the Chinese version of the “Godsend” of raw materials, the combination of “9” and “7” of the giant form highlights the solemn theme of “97”.
