《世界新闻报》有160多年的历史,曾是英国销量最大的报纸之一。因电话窃听丑闻曝光,该报于2011年7月被迫停止发行。这起窃听风波受害者超过600人,涉及英国王室成员、内阁大臣、文体明星和普通刑事案件受害人及家属。英国媒体称这一案件的审理为“世纪审判”。2014年6月24日,旷日持久的英国《世界新闻报》窃听案宣判,原《世界新闻报》主编安迪·库尔森被判有罪,法庭判决他参与电话窃听的罪名成立。
The News of the World has more than 160 years of history and was one of the largest-selling newspapers in the UK. The newspaper was forced to stop issuing in July 2011 because of a phone-hacking scandal. More than 600 people have been victims of this eavesdropping storm, involving members of the British royal family, cabinet ministers, stylistic stars and victims of ordinary criminal cases and their families. British media said the hearing of this case is “century trial ”. On June 24, 2014, the protracted British “News of the World” eavesdropping case was convicted. Former News of the World editor Andy Coulson was convicted. The court ruled that he was involved in telephone tapping charges.
