螺旋形切削刃可使硬质合金镶片球形立铣刀避免崩刃,因而实用于挖模铣削加工。对采用这种新型切削刃的球形立铣刀进行了切屑流动及切削力的试验,以研究其切削特性。发现顺铣加工对这种新型刀刃形状最为有利,因为这种刀刃形状既使切削力减小,又可使刀刃在切入接触时的振动减小。最重要的特点是:用于顺铣时,这种螺旋刀刃可保证刀刃在每次切出后,切屑完全与其脱离。这可避免发生崩刃。
Helical cutting edges allow cemented carbide ball end mills to avoid chipping, making them ideal for dicing and milling operations. Experiments were conducted on the chip flow and the cutting force of a spherical end mill using this new cutting edge to study its cutting characteristics. It has been found that finishing milling is most advantageous for this new cutting edge shape because this cutting edge shape reduces the cutting force and reduces the vibration of the cutting edge when it comes into contact. The most important features are: When used for down-milling, this helical edge ensures that the chip completely separates from it after each cut. This can prevent chipping.
