在低能β射线测量中,除了闪烁体的厚度要适当外,还要求本底低,探测效率高。在2π几何条件测量中,一般采用塑料闪烁体,因为这种闪烁体几何尺寸不受限制,适合于各种不同能量的β射线测量。但是,塑料闪烁体在某些测量中,达不到本底低、探测效率又高的要求。本文介绍的对-联三苯闪烁体却具有这一特点,经用~(147)Pmβ源测得,这种闪烁体的探测效率约为ST-401B型塑料闪烁体最佳厚度时的效率的2.5倍,而本底却比它低60%。下面介绍这种闪烁体的制备方法和用~(147)Pmβ源测得的结果。
In the low-energy β-ray measurement, in addition to the thickness of the scintillator should be appropriate, but also requires low background, high detection efficiency. In 2π geometry measurement, plastic scintillators are generally used because the scintillator geometry is unrestricted and suitable for beta-ray measurements of various energies. However, plastic scintillators can not meet the requirements of low background and high detection efficiency in some measurement. This article describes the p-terphenyl scintillator has this feature, measured by ~ (147) Pmβ source, the detection efficiency of this scintillator is about the best thickness of ST-401B plastic scintillator efficiency 2.5 times, while the background is 60% lower than it. The preparation of this scintillator and the results measured with ~ (147) Pmβ source are described below.
