非洲设计元素一直是时尚和设计界的宠儿之一,有时蓬勃发展,从未退过潮流。新奇、浪漫、热情、忧郁、惊险、冷酷,非洲设计以其别具一格,不同于现代化大生产同质化产物的创意,保留了来自日常生活的风土人情,由于生产资料的缺乏,超过90%的非洲设计作品都是手工制作,兼具美感与实用,使之成为充满情感和故事的绝品。由拉维·奈杜(Ravi Naido)于2004年携手Design Indaba成立的开普敦非洲设计博览会(Cape Town based Design Indaba)首次作为一个世界公认的专业博览会展出
African design elements have always been one of the darlings of the fashion and design world, sometimes thriving, never ending the trend. Novelty, romance, enthusiasm, melancholy, breathtaking, cruel, African design retains the customs and habits of people from everyday life by its distinctive and different from the idea of homogenization of large-scale modern production. Due to the lack of means of production, more than 90% of Africa Design works are hand-made, both aesthetic and practical, making it a must-have full of emotions and stories. The Cape Town based Design Indaba, set up by Ravi Naido in 2004 with Design Indaba, is being exhibited for the first time as a world recognized trade fair
