高中语文课本的古文篇目中,有两个“能”字用法特殊。我们觉得有必要提出来,与有关同志商榷。原句如次: ①故用兵之法,十则围之,五则攻之,倍则分之,敌则能战之,少则能逃之,不若则能避之。(高中语文课本第三册《谋攻》) ②假舆马者,非利足也,而致千里;假舟楫者,非能水也,而绝江河。(高中语文课本第二册《劝学》) ①中的“能战之”、“能逃之”、“能避之”连用的三个“能”字,课本未有注释,而近期出版或再版的古文选注本又几乎都把它们训为“能够”、“要能”或“要”。例如: In the ancient Chinese texts of high school language textbooks, there are two special uses of the word “energy”.
