This article describes a more complete radar guidance lab that will be put into operation in the 1980s. It can simulate infrared at the same time in order to develop a pilot-point target tracking radar and infrared dual-system guidance system. This guidance system is tested for its ability to intercept, identify and track targets under the precise control of a dynamic real-time simulation environment. Radar guidance can be passive, semi-active and active, covering a frequency range of 0.5 to 18 GHz. The infrared guidance system is passive and has a wavelength of 3 to 5 or 8 to 14 microns. In this paper, the system requirements are briefly reviewed. The main subsystems of the laboratory are also described. The rotating and translational motion system, microwave anechoic chamber, target array antenna system, radar signal generation system, infrared (IR) Target system and computer system. The main new laboratory design is a linear array of target antenna system and radar signal generation system. The radar signal generation system provides four different types of radar launchers, each capable of simulating a separate RF signal source simultaneously. These signal sources can be airborne systems, surface-to-air missiles, search or warning radars, radar echoes from irradiated targets and various pulsed and continuous wave electronic countermeasures. Like atmospheric attenuation, Doppler shift, target reflection cross section deviation and angle flicker can also be simulated. The article describes the system performance requirements standards, the reasons for the selection criteria and laboratory test results.
