1998年,全国人大财经委员会在全国人大及其常委会的领导下,以邓小平理论为指针,认真履行宪法和法律赋予的职责,积极开展立法和监督工作。对财经委员会组织起草的7件法律草案,逐件进行了全面研究,促成了有关法律草案的通过,并向全国人大常委会提交了关于九届全国人大常委会经济立法规划的建议。在对政府经济工作的监督方面,认真做好1998年国家计划和预算以及1997年决算的审查,每个季度听取了国务院有关部门关于计划和预算执行情况的汇报,就经济运行情况进行研究、
In 1998, under the leadership of the NPC and its standing committee, the NPC Financial and Economic Committee, guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory, conscientiously performed its duties entrusted by the Constitution and laws and actively conducted legislative and supervisory work. The seven draft laws drafted by the Finance Committee conducted a comprehensive study one by one and contributed to the passage of the relevant draft laws and submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress recommendations on the economic and legislative planning of the Ninth NPC. In the aspect of supervising the government’s economic work, the state plan and budget of 1998 and the review of the final accounts of 1997 were conscientiously done. Each quarter, reports from the relevant departments under the State Council on the implementation of the plan and the budget were heard and the economic operation was studied.
