美国柯罗拉多大学化学教授R. E. Sieuers用金为催化剂在二氧化氮内,以上百种有机化合物进行反应,这种反应已被证明是有效的及高选择性的。他们曾以若干种类的有机化合物,在室温至400℃范围内,以二氧化氮在金催化剂表面上反应得到氧化产品,氧化氮及水(或脱水)。例如:在200℃时以1-戊醇氧化成1-戊醛。其他初级醇也能得到相应的醛。又如4-甲基-2戊醇,在350至400℃,以金为催化剂可以氧化成4-甲基-2-戊酮,反应快速及完整,没有副产品。又如:在350至400℃时,脂肪酮经金催化,去水,得到α、β不饱和酮。
R. E. Sieuers, a professor of chemistry at the University of Colorado, has used gold as a catalyst in the reaction of more than 100 organic compounds in nitrogen dioxide. This reaction has been shown to be effective and highly selective. They have several types of organic compounds, in the range of room temperature to 400 ℃, with nitrogen dioxide on the gold catalyst surface oxidation products, nitrogen oxides and water (or dehydration).
